Achieving Cures Together runners have been participating in the Twin Cities Marathon since 2016 when our first runner, ACT Board Member, Jon Westerhaus, ran his first marathon to help find cures. ACT’s race team of one runner has grown through the years and Achieving Cures Together became an official Charity Partner of the Twin Cities Marathon in 2019. Since 2016, over 100 runners have joined ACT’s team ranks and have raised over $350,000.
ACT’s race team is a critical partner in supporting the production of life-saving microbiota therapies to treat patients with antibiotic resistant C. difficile infections and supply clinical trials targeting a host of medical conditions through microbiota restoration. Through our partnership with the University of Minnesota, we’ve treated over 8,000 patients with recurrent C. difficile infections and provided microbiota therapies to over 25 clinical trials, to date. Read more about our current research partnerships here.
The next Twin Cities Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2025. Official registration for the 2025 Marathon isn’t open yet, you can reserve your spot on ACT’s marathon and 10-mile team by completing our runner sign up. There is no fundraising minimum requirement to run on ACT’s team.
