Founder & President
Peter Westerhaus
As a standout linebacker for the University of Minnesota Gophers, Peter Westerhaus was accustomed to making adjustments at the line of scrimmage. So when he was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis in college, Mr. Westerhaus followed his own playbook: he adapted, and made a life-changing decision. Mr. Westerhaus shifted to the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, determined to pursue a business career that would enable him to help others facing debilitating diseases.
“I’m proud to be part of an organization making an impact on health and well-being. Understanding the human biome is an important frontier of medicine today.”
While earning a degree in finance, Mr. Westerhaus founded Achieving Cures Together to advance medical research and develop treatments in the field of the human biome. Driven by the belief that business can be a powerful force for good, Mr. Westerhaus leads ACT with a blend of purpose, compassion, and strategic vision.
In addition to his responsibilities with ACT, Mr. Westerhaus also serves as the CEO of Survey & Ballot Systems.
