Jon Westerhaus

Jon currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for Achieving Cures Together. He played a role founding Achieving Cures Together in 2015, responding to ulcerative colitis brutally striking his son and significantly impacting his entire family. Jon’s ten plus years of support reflects his belief and commitment to ACT’s mission to heal the sick and find cures.

He holds a degree in government from St. John’s University and a master’s in education from Eastern Illinois University. He founded and was president of Survey & Ballot Systems for 35 years.

Jon is driven by a determination to advance microbial research to find pathways to cure gut, gut-brain and neurological-based illnesses. Through Achieving Cures Together, Jon’s focus is to accelerate research and foster collaboration among scientists and a broad range of medical disciplines.

Ultimately Jon’s focus is to move this frontier line of discovery into mainline medical practice and help create a healthier future for all.
Jon and his wife Sue have been married nearly 40 years and have been blessed with four children and ten grandchildren.
