Greg Margarit

Currently serving as treasurer of Achieving Cures Together, Greg Margarit first connected with ACT when his daughter-in-law was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis more than 10 years ago. Initially, her condition was serious, and debilitating at times, but improved once she saw Dr. Alexander Khoruts of the University of Minnesota Microbiota Therapeutics Program, a pioneering physician and partner of ACT. Now successfully living with the disease, Mr. Margarit’s daughter-in-law was the first recipient of the Robert E. Wilkens Award from ACT, named to honor the grandparent of ACT founder Peter Westerhaus and an early supporter of ACT.

After graduating from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in accounting, Mr. Margarit became a CPA and joined the regional CPA and advisory firm Boulay, Heutmaker and Zibell (now Boulay PLLP), where he spent his entire career. During that time, he became a senior partner, specializing in tax and advisory services, and served as a member of the firm’s management committee for 15 years. Retired since 2021, Mr. Margarit continues to consult on a part-time basis.
